Travel to work survey

Transport Focus carried out research about travelling to work using its Transport User Panel. This looked at those who regularly used to travel by rail before the pandemic and asked if they had made similar journeys since March 2020. The survey ran from 8 December to 3 January and got responses from 866 panellists.

It found that 70 per cent of those who have travelled to work by rail since March 2020 are working for five days in the average week. However, just 13 per cent are travelling to work by rail now for five days or more in the average week. This compares with 53 per cent who did so before March 2020.
