DfT tap-in, tap-out train travel: Transport Focus comment

Commenting on the announcement of tap-in, tap-out pilot schemes for 90 rail stations in the West Midlands and Greater Manchester, Transport Focus director Natasha Grice, said:

“Rail passengers tell us they want a fares system that is simple to use, easy to understand and is flexible enough to cater to how people work and travel today and in the future.

“The spread of pay-as-you-go ticketing across the West Midlands and Greater Manchester, which already works well in London, is to be welcomed.”
